Published rates
do not include the State of Maine 7% lodging tax.
Reservations will
be accepted by mail, internet or telephone starting January 1st.
Walk-ins welcome based on availability.
Deposit: Full payment is required for site or cabin reservations of 1 or 2 nights. Additional nights reserved may be paid in advance or at your time of arrival. We require a deposit for each site reserved. Deposit may be made by credit card at time of reservation or must be received within ten days of making the reservation.
Express check-in: If you
pay
in
full at least 2 weeks prior to arrival, we will send you
a site map and a car pass, which will allow you to bypass check-in
at the
office and proceed directly to your site. However, you will need
to check-in at the office sometime during your day of arrival.
Summer
season runs from May 15th through October 15th.
Shore sites have
a
minimum stay of two (2) nights for weekends. We will
accept 1-night reservations Sunday-Thursday, except holiday weekends.
Wooded & Shore View sites have no minimum stay.
Cabins are available for a minimum
of two (2) nights. Cottages are rustic with gas lights, stove, running cold water and a private outhouse. No electricity
or linens
are available in the cottages.
Site Occupancy will be limited to
one camping party defined as: A family consisting of parent(s)
and/or guardian(s) and any number of their unmarried children to
a maximum of six (6) persons, or a maximum of four (4) adults; One
(1) R.V., trailer, camper van or slide-in camper is allowed per campsite. Not more than two motor vehicles, including visitor’s
vehicle, are allowed on one site.
You must be 21 years of age to reserve a campsite.
Visitor Policy:Visitors are welcome at Recompence! All visitors must register at the office. Daytime visitors 12 and older must pay a $5 fee per day. Any visitor vehicle must display a visitor’s pass. Not more than two vehicles are to be parked at any site at any time. Overnight visitors are not permitted and all visitors are asked to vacate the Campground by 10:00 pm.
Cancellations: A
14 day notice prior to your scheduled date of arrival is required for all campsite cancellations and a
30 day notice for cabin cancellations, or the deposit will be forfeited.
A
$10.00 service charge is assessed on all cancellations. Your deposit
minus the $10.00 fee will be returned to you using the same method
by which you paid. If you cancel in less than the required time
you
will forfeit your deposit. No refunds for holiday weekends. No
refunds for shortened stay, or inclement weather. No exceptions are made to this policy.
We will move your reservation for a campsite or a cottage to a future available date for a fee of $10.00. Once we have moved your reservation, your deposit becomes non-refundable.
Payment: We accept cash, Visa,
MasterCard, Discover, and personal checks. There is a $25 service charge for returned checks.

Winter Camping
Recompence offers a unique winter camping experience for groups or individuals. While many sites are closed for the winter months, our protected sites will remain open for this wonderful opportunity. Winter camping is done by reservation only. Tent sites are $20.00 per night. Cottages are $80-$85 per night and this includes wood. Remember, there are no showers or running water and this is primitive camping. Email us for more information.
