Activities & Events

Wolfe’s Neck Center hosts an array of activities and events designed to engage people with farming, food, and the great outdoors.

Events at Wolfe's Neck Center

From our Farm to Table Dinner Series to our Annual Harvest Dance to our Backyard Gardener Workshop series, Wolfe’s Neck Center events are fun and memorable opportunities to enhance your camping experience while supporting our nonprofit educational farm.

Kayak and Bike Rentals

Wolfe’s Neck Center is the perfect setting to explore by water or land!  Rent a kayak and canoe and head on to the calm waters of Casco Bay, where you can search for harbor seal and osprey.  Or enjoy the peaceful country roads and scenic vistas by bicycle.

Farmer for the Morning

$5 per person, 45 minutes, recommended for ages 2 and older.

Bring your young farmers to the barnyard for a morning of fun! We’ll start with a quick story before our little farmers help with farm chores and explore. We’ll also meet the animals and participate in activities with rotating themes. A perfect morning playdate with friends!

Farmyard Storytime

Free, 30 minutes, recommended for ages 6 and under.

Join us for a farm-themed story time! We’ll meet in our barn (or inside the farmhouse in the winter) to read a few stories about our different farm animals and more. Sit back and bring a snack, if you’d like!

Afternoon Milking

$7 per person, 60 minutes, recommended for ages 6 and up.  Program available starting this spring, booking opening soon.

Come watch our dairy herd in action! Witness 30+ cows go through the milking process in our brand new milking parlor. You will meet some of our dairy apprentices, learn more about our Organic Dairy Farmer Training Program, and sample Stonyfield yogurt made with milk from our herd. Be sure to wear close-toed shoes.

Biking and Jogging Tours

$5 per person, 45 minutes, recommended for ages 10 and up. Program available starting this spring, booking opening soon.

Come see the farm in a whole new way! Join one of our educators for a biking or running tour through the property. We’ll stop at various points along the route to talk about our pasture-raised dairy and livestock, and learn about the history and landscapes of Wolfe’s Neck Center. Running tours are about 3 miles with a comfortable 10:30 mile pace. Biking tours are around 5 miles at a relaxed pace. Bring your own bike (bicycles are also available for rent in our campground office for an additional fee).

Chicken or the Egg

$20 per group (up to 4, $5 per additional participant), includes a dozen fresh eggs, 60 minutes, recommended for ages 6 and up. Program available starting this spring, booking opening soon.

Hop on board our hay wagon as we head out to pasture for an up close look at our mobile chicken tractor. We’ll learn all about how we raise our laying hens here at Wolfe’s Neck Center and keep our ladies healthy and happy! You’ll even get to gather your own eggs to take with you for your next breakfast.

Goat Hike

$5 per person, 45 minutes, recommended for ages 6 and up. Program available starting this spring, booking opening soon.

Join the goat herd! We’ll meet at our Wishcamper Livestock Education barn and browse the trails through the woods on a half-mile loop with a few of our curious goats. Since we are a working farm, we require parents remain with their children at all times.

Please note:  There is limited capacity of fifteen (15) individuals for this program.   Pre-registering is the only way to guarantee a spot.

Hay Wagon Ride

$5 per person, 30 minutes, all ages. Program available starting this spring, booking opening soon.

Hop on our hay wagon for a ride through West Bay’s pastures and vegetable field! This is a great outing for families.

Salamander Meander

$5 per person, 60 minutes, all ages. Program available starting this spring, booking opening soon.

Meander through the woods of Wolfe’s Neck Center with one of our educators and search for salamanders under logs, snakes basking in the sun, and signs of other wildlife that inhabit the forests bordering our barnyard. Come prepared for a hike and exploration off of the beaten trail! Closed-toed shoes are recommended.

Taste of the Farm

$10 per person, 60 minutes, all ages. Program available starting this spring, booking opening soon.

Come get a “taste” of the farm as you visit our organic vegetable gardens and fields! You’ll see and taste the fruits and vegetables that are in season and harvest them for a snack made with organic Stonyfield yogurt produced with milk from our cows.

Trucks and Tractors

$5 per person, 60 minutes, recommended for ages 12 and under.  Program available starting this spring, booking opening soon.

One of the best parts of being on the farm is seeing the many different trucks and tractors we use for our daily operations. Climb aboard the hay wagon for a tour of some of the barns where we keep our farming equipment. We’ll get up close to the different machines and see how they work in action!
